Talking with a trained professional can help you make sense of what is happening and move forward with greater ease. Ann Cassidy is a BACP-accredited integrative psychotherapist with more than sixteen years of clinical experience across the NHS and private practice. Integrative means she draws on several therapeutic models rather than applying one, so the work is shaped around you instead of the other way round. She sees individuals and couples, and every enquiry starts with a free fifteen-minute conversation.

What Ann can help with

Integrative counselling and psychotherapy for adults and couples, in person at Esher.

๐Ÿ‘ถ

Postnatal Depression

Postnatal Depression Low Mood Anxiety Adjustment Parenthood
Becoming a parent can be much harder than anyone prepares you for, and the gap between how you expected to feel and how you actually feel is often the most difficult part. Ann has worked with postnatal depression throughout her career in both the NHS and private practice. There is no expectation that you arrive able to explain what is wrong.
๐ŸŒฑ

Self-Esteem and Confidence

Low Self-Esteem Confidence Self-Worth Bullying Work Issues
Low self-esteem tends to show up everywhere at once: in relationships, at work, in the way you speak to yourself. Ann works with adults whose confidence has been worn down over time or knocked by something specific, including bullying and difficulties at work. The aim is not positive thinking but understanding where the belief came from and what keeps it in place.
๐Ÿง˜

Mindfulness-Based Work

Mindfulness Stress Anxiety Emotional Regulation Wellbeing
Ann completed a four-year mindfulness training programme and is recognised as a qualified mindfulness teacher by the Mindfulness Association. Where it suits the work, mindfulness practice sits alongside talking therapy as a practical way of managing stress and staying with difficult feelings rather than being overwhelmed by them. It is offered as part of the therapy, not instead of it.

Meet Ann Cassidy Psychotherapy

Ann Cassidy is a BACP-accredited integrative psychotherapist and supervisor with more than sixteen years of clinical experience, practising at Health Village Esher and at Bank in the City of London. She works with individuals and with couples.

Integrative means she is not tied to a single school of therapy. She draws on several psychotherapeutic models to find the approach that fits the person in front of her, which matters because the same difficulty can need very different handling depending on who is carrying it. Her stated aim is to help clients move forward with greater ease and with greater potential for positive change.

She holds a first-class BA Hons in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Couple Therapy, along with specialised training in bereavement. She has also completed a four-year mindfulness programme and is a qualified mindfulness teacher recognised by the Mindfulness Association.

Ann has worked across both the NHS and the private sector, including as a counsellor for BUPA Psychological Services, as a senior counsellor for WHCM Forrest Counselling Service, and as a counselling lecturer at a South West London college. That range means she has worked with a wide spread of presenting issues and with people from many walks of life. Sessions run for fifty minutes, either for a limited number or on an open-ended basis, and are reviewed together as the work develops.

Embrace positive change to flourish and move forward. My task is to help facilitate that process and make sustainable change for a happier, more fulfilling life.

Common questions

What does integrative therapy mean? +

It means Ann is not tied to one school of therapy. She draws on several psychotherapeutic models and chooses the approach that suits you, rather than applying the same method to everyone. In practice that makes the work more adaptable, because the same difficulty can need very different handling depending on the person carrying it.
