Meet Gentell Wound Clinic
Gentell is one of the largest vertically-integrated wound care companies in the world, founded in the United States in 1994 and now operating internationally. The UK arm, Gentell Europe, was established in 2023, with its first specialist wound clinics opening in 2024 across the South East. Gentell provides a wound care service at Health Village Esher as part of this growing network.
The clinical model is built around three components: specialist nurses, proven protocols and rigorous data capture. Gentell’s network of 130 wound care specialists supports patients in care homes, community settings, hospices and residential homes. The same evidence-based protocols are used in the UK, aligned with the NHS Wound Care Strategy Programme, and assessments are recorded through Gentell’s Fastcare clinical platform so progress can be measured and adjustments made early.
The named clinical contact for the Esher service is Daria Tetlak, who joined Gentell in 2025 as a Tissue Viability Nurse supporting the expansion of Gentell’s wound healing clinics across Surrey and surrounding areas. Daria works alongside Director of Nursing Maria Cristina Moon, who oversees clinical standards across Gentell UK. Maria qualified from St Bartholomew School of Nursing at City University and brings over 20 years of NHS clinical experience across primary and secondary care, including research delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The patient-specific model is what sets the service apart. Rather than addressing wounds in isolation, the team carries out holistic assessment, including Doppler and Duplex vascular testing where clinically indicated, identifies the underlying cause of the wound (venous, arterial, diabetic, pressure-related or otherwise), and builds a care plan that is reviewed regularly and adjusted as healing progresses. Patients can self-refer, or be referred by their GP, district nurse, community team or care provider. Where the team identifies a need for surgical, vascular or podiatry input, onward referrals are arranged, including to other Health Village practitioners where appropriate.

How it works
Initial Enquiry
Contact the team by email or online form. Briefly describe the wound, how long it has been present, and any prior treatments. The team will guide you on what to bring and whether to share any GP notes.
First Assessment
A specialist nurse carries out a holistic wound assessment at the Esher clinic, including Doppler or Duplex testing if indicated. Photos and measurements are recorded on the Fastcare platform.
Treatment Plan
A patient-specific plan is built around your wound, your circumstances and your goals. The plan covers dressings, frequency of review, and any onward referrals.
Healing & Handover
Once the wound is on a healing trajectory, you continue under regular review until closure, then a written handover is shared with your GP, district nurse or care team.
