Different practitioners address different needs. Medical menopause care, gynaecology, pelvic health and acupuncture are separate services and can play different roles. Contact the relevant practice directly, or ask us if you're unsure where to begin.
At the medical clinics, a first appointment typically covers a full symptom and medical-history review (The Female Health Clinic asks you to complete a symptom questionnaire beforehand), a review of any existing HRT or medication, and a discussion of treatment options against British Menopause Society guidance. Blood tests are arranged where clinically indicated and charged separately. If treatment is prescribed, prescriptions are arranged by the practice and charged separately from the consultation, and follow-up reviews are offered as your treatment settles. practice confirm

What's included varies by practice: prescriptions are typically charged separately (£42 repeat script fee at The Female Health Clinic), blood tests are extra when needed, and a refundable booking deposit may apply. Ask when you book. Medical consultations start at £225; additional support from £125; the pelvic-health consultation is free.
Both clinics offer private HRT consultations without a GP referral: an unhurried appointment to go through your symptoms and history, decide whether hormone treatment is appropriate, and review it properly once you're on it. Prescribing follows British Menopause Society guidance, using regulated body-identical hormone treatment where it's clinically suitable.
Between them, the two practices cover ongoing hormone management as well as first prescriptions: dose reviews, switching preparations, care after a hysterectomy or early menopause, and complex situations such as menopause after breast cancer. practice confirm If you've been managing on a repeat prescription for years and it no longer feels right, a review appointment is the place to start.
Still having periods? The transition years before they stop are perimenopause — a stage of its own with overlapping symptoms, seen by the same clinicians on this page. Appointments and fees are the same; just say where you think you are in the transition when you book.
