Symptoms can begin years before periods stop and may include hot flushes, night sweats, irregular cycles, anxiety, low mood, poor sleep, brain fog, fatigue, joint aches and a loss of confidence. Consultations are thorough, supportive and personalised. They take the time to understand your symptoms, medical history and lifestyle before creating an evidence-based treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. How it works
Discovery Call
Call 01372 502402 to arrange a discovery call with a member of The Female Health Clinic Patient Services team. This is an opportunity to discuss what you would like help with, receive an overview of fees, and be guided towards the most appropriate specialist for your needs.
(Peri)menopause Initial Consultation
Before your consultation, you will be asked to complete a detailed symptom questionnaire. This allows your doctor to review your medical history in advance and ensures your appointment time is used to focus on your symptoms, concerns and next steps together, creating a personalised plan tailored to your needs.
Treatment Begins
If hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is recommended, your specialist will prescribe HRT tailored to your needs. This may include oestrogen, progesterone and/or testosterone, depending on your symptoms and medical history. Prescriptions are issued privately and can be dispensed at any pharmacy in the UK.
Follow-up & Reviews
A follow-up appointment is usually arranged 8 to 12 weeks after your initial consultation to review your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment. Once your symptoms are stable, some patients choose to continue their HRT care through their NHS GP. The clinic can support and help coordinate this where appropriate.
